Terms of Service

1. What the service is

We operate three Model Context Protocol servers that make public reference material queryable by AI assistants: the NIST SP 800-171 requirement set with the Department of Defense assessment methodology, live federal contracting data relayed from SAM.gov and USASpending.gov, and DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide rules. They are free, require no account, and are provided as a public resource.

2. What the service is not

It is reference information, not legal, contractual, or professional advice. A score, a control interpretation, a level determination, an eligibility answer, or a hardening rule returned by these servers is a starting point for your own analysis. It does not establish your compliance posture, does not substitute for an assessment by a qualified assessor, and does not create an advisory relationship between you and MacTech Solutions.

Authoritative text lives with its publisher — NIST, DISA, the DoD CIO, acquisition.gov, SAM.gov and USASpending.gov — and it changes. Regulation and policy in this area are moving quickly. Verify anything you intend to rely on for a bid, a contract, an assessment, or a submission to the government against the primary source before you rely on it.

Nothing served here is Controlled Unclassified Information, classified information, or export-controlled technical data, and you must not send any of those to these endpoints.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• send Controlled Unclassified Information, classified information, personal health information, export-controlled data, or anyone's personal information to these endpoints;
• attempt to circumvent the quotas, per-caller allowances, or caching described in section 4, including by distributing requests across addresses to evade them;
• probe, scan, or attack the service, or use it to attack anything else;
• use the service in a way that breaches the terms of the upstream government APIs it relays, or that misrepresents its output as an official government determination;
• present the service's output as an assessment, certification, or attestation issued by MacTech Solutions.

4. Quotas, keys, and availability

The SAM.gov-backed tools run against a limited daily quota. Without a key of your own, requests draw on a shared budget subject to a per-caller daily allowance and a global daily cap, and may be answered from a short-lived cache. You may instead supply your own free SAM.gov API key, in which case you spend your own quota and are responsible for that key and for your use of it under SAM.gov's own terms. The USASpending-backed tools require no key.

We may change, rate-limit, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice. There is no uptime commitment. Upstream government APIs have their own outages and quota resets that we do not control.

5. Intellectual property

The underlying source material — NIST special publications, DISA STIGs, federal acquisition regulation, and government contracting data — is U.S. Government work and is not owned by us. Our compilation, structuring, scoring implementation, crosswalks, tool design, code, and the MacTech Solutions name and marks are ours. Code we publish under an open-source licence is governed by that licence. You may use the servers' output in your own work; you may not claim our compilation as your own product or resell access to these servers as if it were your service.

6. No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the information is complete, current, or correct, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MacTech Solutions LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for lost profits, lost contracts, lost bids, or lost data, arising out of your use of or inability to use the service — including any decision you make on the basis of its output. Our total aggregate liability arising out of the free public service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).

Paid engagements with MacTech Solutions are governed by their own signed agreement, which controls over these terms for that work.

8. Privacy

Our handling of data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

9. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms. Material revisions are reflected in the effective date above. Continuing to use the service after a revision means you accept it.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which MacTech Solutions LLC is organized, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts sitting in that state have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
